A soul on a journey chose a pair of parents in Belgium
Not long after, Nele was born.
From an early age, I felt different.
I felt

Little Nele loved to play outside, lie in the grass, craft, build forts, make witches’ soups, dance, music and invent games to play together. 

It wasn’t always easy to find connection within a group
to agree with adult decisions
to sit still and pay attention in an alien school system.
Oh how I longed for something different

When I was 5 years old, my parents chose a new ‘alternative’ path 
We started exploring together: 'what feels right for us?'
Evolutionary psychology, macrobiotics, alternative medicine, myths and archetypes, dreams, medicinal plants, horse therapy, constellations, inner journeys, bodywork…
So many new worlds opened up
An inspired life.

My time at school was easy. I was the good girl, listened well, did my homework.
But it never really went deeper than that
I was ‘the quiet one’ and nobody really knew me.
University broke me
Self-confidence gone.
Learning things by heart just to echo the professor’s exact words, feeding his ego.
And still, I didn’t give up

I got stuck in the expectations of society.
The last few years were filled with sadness, pushing through, feeling lost, while still trying to enjoy life
People knew me as the happy, always smiling Nele
but slowly, that also became a role I got tired of playing.
I still tried to function in the system for a while
A job in advertising. Creativity in a box.

In the meantime I discovered astrology
A new magical door opened
The more I studied and explored deeper, the softer the world became.
I began to understand myself and others better and received confirmation of what I had always felt.
My spiritual and mental worlds stood wide open, but the physical still felt so small.

I had to go explore.

While traveling I experienced connection I had never felt before
with people along the way
this lifelong loneliness disappeared
I understood: it is possible to live in a different way (together)

In the midst of all those new experiences and happiness, another challenging period in my life began
a letting go of the persona I had been building since childhood
Playing, wrestling and negotiating with thoughts after realizing they are not me
a letting go of obedience, of the need to meet expectations
My body responded
I was tired, felt strong and unexplainable pain, was moody
I withdrew overstimulated and often felt ‘outside’ of this world.
I offered myself three years of rest, acceptance and deep recharge
slowly I took back responsibility.
Wonderful people guided me and I am deeply grateful for every opportunity and all support.

But I know: I made the choice. I did the work
and this is still a daily challenge:

Nurturing my physical body with food and movement
Feeling, accepting, and releasing emotions
Choosing again and again for supportive thoughts and
being selective about everything else entering my brain.
Letting go of places and people that drain me
And most importantly surrounding myself with love.

Today I’m based in Panama, on a Caribbean island
I live and enjoy
I guide others through the insights gathered from years of experience, (self-)thought tools and a never-ending hunger for learning.
I love projects and variety:
converting a van and sailboats
organizing gatherings and parties
creating art in every color and shape.

I create
most of all spaces where everyone feels welcome and safe
physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually

This is my story
